As far as i know, MT will be discontinued, and some banks are offering the conversion to CAMT. You need to then make the proper mapping within your ERP. CAMT053 provides more details (higher quality) than MT940 for instance.
The same applies for formats, EDIFACT got obsolete, so we moved to XML where it was required.
Make sure that your connectivity channel supports XML and CAMT.
